Mexican Customs
NEW! SPECIAL DECAL REQUIRED
This year we have worked out a special deal with the Sonoran State officials to allow the rally caravan to travel into areas outside of the “free zone”. They have a requested that ALL vehicles traveling with the rally fill out our Sonora Rally Customs form (Link Above) in order for you to receive a specific decals that will allow you to travel with us to Banamichi. In order to complete the registration process in Hermosillo, this form must be filled out for EACH Support Vehicle crossing / Race vehicle crossing so we can issue each vehicle the special DECALS.
CAR REGISTRATION PAPERS – You must have registration papers for all vehicles crossing the border, including your race vehicle. The person who is named on those registration papers must be there when crossing the
border. Otherwise you may not be allowed into Mexico. If they cannot be
there in person, we recommend having a signed letter from the owner of the vehicle.
MANDATORY VISA – You must buy or pick up your tourist permit (FMM) at
the checkpoint at KM21 south of Nogales. If you go with the CARAVAN (see
below) they will be stopping together to pick up the tourist permits.
• Online FMM registration here OR you can fill it out at the
station: https://www.inm.gob.mx/fmme/publico/en/solicitud.html
PLEASE NOTE THE BELOW MEXICO RULES:

Do not bring across full gas cans or drums (they must be empty).
